John 1:50-51 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? - TopicsExpress

John 1:50-51 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. Nathanael quickly finds out that Jesus can do miracles. Even though Jesus was not physically there, He saw Nathanael under the fig tree. This partially symbolizes that God is everywhere, and also that He is all-knowing - and even more shows that Jesus knows these things too! Lord God, I pray that we would live our lives as though we remember all is in Your view. No act, no time, and no place are outside of your gaze, or kept secret from You. Because our lives are lived vulnerable to your sight, let us be mindful and live according to Your truth. Help us look to You in secret.
