John Cleese, one of the masterminds behind the hilarity that is Fawlty Towers, was interviewed for NPRs Fresh Air about his book. He discusses Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and humor in general in between audio clips of comedy gems. One of my favorite gems from Cleese is about a night when the audience just wasnt laughing at material that had worked so well In the past. He said he knew then that it wasnt funny-- that if no one was laughing it simply wasnt funny.
