John Coltrane doing his usual job of musical genius. - TopicsExpress

John Coltrane doing his usual job of musical genius. Unfortunately, this is one of those albums that was released from previously unissued tunes, from 1957/58, that he had no consultation over from the record company because they saw that his popularity was increasing and decided to cash in on it a few years later. The title tune, by Billy Strayhorn (of Duke Ellington fame), has some powerful vocals in the version done with Johnny Hartman (not on this album). I think this was the first true/blue jazz album that I own. https://youtube/watch?v=pWTLqmV3-z4
