John Dewey Allee March 8, 1951 – June 2, 2014 John Dewey Allee, 63, passed away after a valiant battle with colon cancer at 11:13 am on June 2, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit in Rochester, NY. He fought colon and liver cancer for over a decade. He lived in Fayetteville in his “dream house” for seven years with his life partner Lillee Allee (Elizabeth Chapman). A Boston area native, he spent his childhood in Chelsea and then Watertown, Massachusetts. After Watertown High School, he was in the Massachusetts National Guard and the United States Army. He held positions at St. Regis Paper Company and ADP (Automatic Data Processing), both in the Boston area. He also worked as a website developer and independent video producer. He met his life partner in 1984, when she was a radio program director and he was a featured jazz singer with the Al Vega Trio. He co-authored a spiritual book with Lillee in 2007. The two spoke at many events throughout the country on metaphysical topics. John particularly enjoyed the company of their beloved Brussels griffon, Pazuzu (Poopy Boy). He was predeceased by his parents, Albert D. Allee and Elizabeth(Betty Musserian). He also leaves behind oldest brother, Albert Don “Don” and his wife, Kristin (Kittell) of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, brothers George and Weston of Deerfield, New Hampshire, and foster son John J. Crandall currently in Las Vegas, along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. His beliefs and spiritual traditions were always a source of hope and inspiration throughout his life. John requested no wake. A private service will be held later. In lieu of flowers or gifts, John asked that contributions be made to the family to cover his expenses, or donations may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
