John Hovde, Scott Flach, Dorvan and I had a great time at the AQHA - TopicsExpress

John Hovde, Scott Flach, Dorvan and I had a great time at the AQHA Convention in New Orleans, March 7-10. Lots of meetings, comradery and great food. Following the committee meetings and reports, AQHA Directors voted to forward many recommendations to the Executive Committee for final approval. A few that I recall include: raise the select age from 50 to 62 years of age, allow any horse to be shown in more than one youth or amateur subdivisions (i.e. amateur and select amateur), change the age of junior horses to six and under and senior horses to 7 and over, rename the current Ranch Horse Pleasure to Ranch Horse Riding (pattern class) and add Ranch Horse Western Pleasure (rail class). Again, there were many other recommedations brought forward that the Executive Committe will consider at their meetings in April.
