John Legend wins 2015 Golden Globe for Best Original Song Watching her husband win a Golden Globe was always going to be an emotional moment for Chrissy Teigen. But when tears started streaming down her face, the social media commentators went wild. The supermodel planted a big smooch after he nabbed the award for Best Original Song on a Motion Picture for his track Glory! The loving display continued as the couple, who wed in 2013, packed on the PDA in the press room and backstage areas. Prince was the presenter for the award category, which included nominees: Lorde (Yellow Flicker Beat, The Hunger Games - Mockingjay, Part 1), Smith Smith, Mercy Is (Noah), Lana Del Rey, Big Eyes, the self-titled track from the Tim Burton film, and Sia, Opportunity (Annie). Accepting the award alongside Legend, Common said: As I got to know the people of the Civil Rights Movement, I realized I am the hopeful black woman that was denied her right to vote. ‘I am the caring white supporter killed on the front lines of freedom. I am the unarmed black kid who maybe needed a hand, but instead was given a bullet. I am the two fallen police officers murdered in the line of duty.’ John explained in a December interview: ‘Common and I wrote this song for Selma as a labor of love in honor of this magnificent film and the incredible men and women whose struggle the film chronicles. As we continue to march for justice and equality in 2014, we are so inspired by their work.
