Johnny Cash may not be to everybody’s taste in music but he was a legend in the world of Country Music. Inmates readily identified with Cash as he always gave the impression he was anti-authority. Cash was famous for ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ and for the concerts he performed in Folsom and San Quentin prisons. He gave the impression he had served sentences in mainstream gaols however, at best he spent the odd night in a lock-up for drunk and disorderly conduct. Still, Johnny Cash, aka ‘The Man in Black,’ remains one of the most revered country singers in the world. These pics best illustrate his fondness for entertaining a captive audience.
