Join us for Awake My Soul on August 9th at Holy Cross Church (on 14/Middlebelt). Tickets are $5 and are being sold at every church. This event is being hosted by Father Andrew and Sister Christine. There will be some fantastic speakers including: Sister Maryam, Marcus Guevara, Deacon Alex Jones, and singer song writer Tacji. There will also be a children’s tent. Doors open at 5pm. Fr. Andrew will be interviewing Sr. Christine about her recent trip to Iraq. Then, after we listen to our guest speakers we will join together for adoration and a Eucharistic procession and end the night with Mass. It will be a beautiful night of spirituality and we hope you will join us. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Here is what to expect: • Marcus Guevara has a powerful conversion story! He led a life of promiscuity and now he speaks on the topic of chastity. (Like a modern-day St. Augustine) It’s a beautiful perspective from someone who has actually been there. Marcus is also the founder the site ThirstingforTruth and he speaks and writes mostly on the subjects of Faith, Reason and Theology of the Body • Deacon Alex Jones: was the senior minister of two protestant churches in the city of Detroit. He began a two-year journey into the Catholic Church that culminated in fifty-four members of his previous congregation, including fourteen members of his family, entering the Catholic Church. Join us to hear his amazing conversion! • Tacji: Was a teenage superstar in Europe with platinum records and thousands of fans. At the age of 21 she left everything to come to the United States. In the U.S. she came to know her faith more and decided to write and sing songs about it. Today she has toured the US in more than 1,000 iDoBelieve concerts. She will share testimony combined with music.
