Join us for the Sage Elementary First Thursday Celebration!!! Thursday, October 3rd From 4-6pm Café Capri @ Mallard & Parkcenter Music by Miss Robison and Ms. Golay at 5pm. The art is part of our first cross-grade PYP unit "Good-bye to the Summer Sun" inspired by Mexican Pottery and the Mayan Calendar. K-2 Students viewed the whimsical aspects of the sun in Mexican pottery and the facial characteristics that artists use to bring our sunshine ALIVE! 3-5th grade artists expanded knowledge of the Mayan Calendar and the aspects of its symbolism...they challenged themselves (risk takers) to apply complicated designs created by shape into concentric circles and reflected on the function and symbolism of this ancient artifact. We hope to see you there.
