Joint Ultrasound course 3-5 March, 2014 Organized by The International Representative Committee (ERC) of the RCOG in Egypt and the Fetal Medicine Unit, Cairo University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Kasr El-Aini Hospital ================= DATE: 3-5 March 2014 VENUE: The course will be held in the training facility of the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Kasr El Eini faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. NUMBER OF TRAINEES: 70 participants OBJECTIVES AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE COURSE: a.To establish more understanding of fetal anatomy and fetal anomalies (CNS, Renal, facial, skeletal, pulmonary, GIT anomalies and abdominal wall defects). b. It will include fetal echocardiography, different Doppler applications, multiple pregnancies, and twin to twin transfusion syndrome. c.First trimester screening and Nuchal scan. d.Screening for preterm labour. e.Principles of 3D and 4D ultrasound and how can you use them effectively in clinical practice. f.Part of the course will be directed to anomalies of the uterus and ovaries, screening for gynaecological malignancies. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? •All Trainees, specialists and Consultants in obstetrics and gynaecology. •Those who are registered, or interested in Advanced Antenatal Practice and Fetal Medicine •All clinicians involved in the diagnosis, management and counseling of fetal anomalies and antenatal high-risk obstetrics. WHY TO ATTEND? •There will be topics of interest for Advanced Antenatal across the three days. •The course addresses the theoretical part of the RCOG Fetal Medicine module. •Egyptian Representative Committee Meetings are recognised by the Royal College for continuous medical education. COURSE AND TRAINING MATERIALS: The candidates will be provided with hand outs and C.D for the lectures, as well a theoretical book will be recommended for further readings, in addition they will be provided with the recommended internet sites for updating their medical knowledge.
