Jose Mourinho claims to be ‘extremely confident’ Diego Costa will sign for Chelseaduring the summer transfer window, with the Portuguese manager confirming he has requested the Atletico Madrid striker is recruited by the club. Costa scored 36 goals in the recently concluded club campaign as Atletico won La Liga and reached the final of the Champions League, and a move to Chelsea is expected to be imminent for the Spain international. Chelsea have been linked with Costa for some time and, reports claim, already have an agreement in place that will see the 25-year-old arrive at Stamford Bridge following his international commitments at the World Cup. £32 millionis the fee Chelsea will pay to capture his signature, while the five-year deal will cost £80 millionin total. Amid all the speculation about Costa, Mourinho has been able to remain relatively tight-lipped - that is until now, of course. The Chelsea boss has spoken to Spanish newspaper Marca, and practically confirmed that Costa will be his player from next season. Costa is a player I want in my team,” Mourinho said. “I’ve asked the club to bring him in and I am extremely confident that we are going to get him and hell end up signing for Chelsea.” The arrival of Costa at Chelsea is likely to spell the end for Fernando Torres at the club. Costa has already ousted Torres from the Spain team, earning a start in the defeat to the Netherlands on Friday, and the same is expected to happen at Chelsea.
