Joseph Segal It’s really just so sad. The Republican Party “Leaders” keep repeating the words “We have a spending problem” over and over again, and millions of Americans hear that and then repeat it themselves. You and I see them posting “stop spending” as if our problem is not our bridges crumbling around us, our wages being flat for decades, millions of citizens unemployed without hope, our schools failing and falling apart, our people uninsured and unemployed and our country in never ending costly and terrible wars. Still the Republican Party dutifully repeats the mantra that the Big Business Lobby instructs them to… “stop government spending!” and now even our monopoly corporate media chimes in with them and their deficit deceits. But worse than that to me is our own Democratic Party giving credence to this Austerity Cut Spending Fraud by focusing on how much or how little to inflict Austerity on us all in the current budget negotiations as if there’s merit to the Deficit Crisis lies. Instead OUR leaders should be focusing on debunking the Austerity Fraudsters, advocating for massive jobs programs to put Americans to work, breaking up the Big Banks and other Monopolies and expediting the expansion of Medicaid and Medicare. The Deficit is going DOWN steadily, it is NOT an immediate crisis but unemployment and wealth inequality is! -
