Joshua 24:1-End. FOR ME AND MY FAMILY WE WILL SERVE THE lord-verse 15. Interesting story;You asked why? Okay,I am very sure the question of Joshua here has some heart-beating reasons-verse 19. Joshua said to Istrealites that theyre not ABLE to serve holy jealous God and He wouldnt forgive their rebelling and sinnings.He opened their spiritual eyes to the wrath of God wrath in verse 20 if they were unable to serve GOD but looking at their response in verse 21-They exclaimed in a loud voice that NO! We will serve the Lord.Because Joshua knew that theyre claiming what they may not do in future-he replied them that theyre Witnessing against themselves that youve chosen to serve the Lord that saved your fore fathers in Egypt,red sea,Jordan,Jericho,Amorites, Perizzites,Canaanites, Hitites to jebusites. Joshua knew that their confession may be mere claiming that they will serve the Lord so he decided to tell them again that the stone will also witness to them. Let us analyse this chapter with the holy spirit inspiration,I will like to say Joshua saw more than Shrine before he concluded Istrealites may not serve God as expected.Anything that you equivalent or raised/love more than God becomes your god.What are those things? 1-Money 2- Position 3- Power 4- Sociality 5 -Human relationship 6 - Religious and; 7 - pleasure 8-Comfort 9-Others. Joshua knew that even though not all Istrealites were committed to shrine worshipping,most others too did not reference God equal to not to talk of above those worldly things.Rich people are just problem solver nothing more than that cos all our riches were being borrowed from God-not a measure of our effort brings us wealth. Joshua didnt ask them the question with anger or to wipe them off but because he has seen what they were committed to.For you to know if youre taking God below any among them;Think deep. Any among those listed that make you forget to pray the more;Any among those listed that make you not to pray is your God.Dont be confused,If for instance Money or position make you pray the more when needed is your God or when you have the money or gain the position and thereafter you have no time to pray the more is your God.Jesus opened our eyes to this in Mathew 22:37 & 38 by saying love your God with all not some of your heart-the first and greatest commandment.Compare Joshua statement as for me and my household we will serve the Lord and Jesus own together my brethren and realise what youve raise above or equal to your God.... We are created to please God as said in the beginning so I want you to search yourself and know any of those listed things that make you to pray the more or those that reduce your prayer strength to know if youre a CHRISTIAN. YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO DEFINE YOUR CHRISTIANITY THEN. Gods word is spirit and life indeed....Thank you and God will give us the grace to be clean than snow like Davids the King requested in psalm 51:7.
