Joshua 24:15(TLB): But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” REFLECTION: In this time in history, the first statement in this verse is a very profound one…then choose whom you will serve; spiritually. This country was founded on Christian principals; but, so many other spiritual beliefs, or lack of belief, are now popular. So, scripture even addresses this when it says: “then choose today whom you will serve.” God gave each one of us free will, which means we get to choose our beliefs. The last part of the verse declares what the family will believe, however, we freely choose, therefore all family members do not always have the same beliefs. This is a very different world in which we live; there is most times, no one spiritual head of the family. We all, however, can state categorically…” But as for me …, [I] will serve the LORD! Amen.
