Joyce Banda scores on media freedom As the world commemorates Press Freedom day, President Joyce Banda continues to shine on Press Freedom, a contrasting trait when compared to her predecessors. Malawi has leaped up on the global ranking for freedom of the press with 50% from 147 in 2011/2012. The country now rests on position 73 of the Press Freedom Index. The annual index of media freedom is compiled by the Reporters Without Borders, an international NGO that monitors and examine press freedom globally.
