Considered one of the most beautiful songs of Brazilian popular music, Cuitelinho (regional appellation for Hummingbird) tells, in the manner of the people, a little story of longing, which can be interpreted as a longing for a Brazilian soldier who fought in the Paraguayan War. The lyrics was collected by Antonio Xandó & Paul Vanzolini during a fishing, and played by great names of Brazilian popular music, as Nara Leão, Milton Nascimento, Renato Teixeira and the country singers (sertanejos) Pena Branca & Xavantinho.
