Jr K a field trip to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center and American River Parkway It was a perfect day to hit the trails, sunny mild weather, The meadows are still green and the animals were active, We spotted deer, lots of caterpillars and butterflies, beetles, armies of ants, woodpeckers, squirrels, and even a bee hive in the hollow of an oak tree, We learned about the habitats, foods and routines of the creature we saw. We also enjoyed the animals in the center particularly a rescued owl and a rattlesnake (behind the glass). Then we got to pet a gopher snake! It was a great day!
