Jubilee Theme for 2015: HULA IN THE COOLA! Nisswa Winter Jubilee is scheduled for Feb. 13-14-15, 2015. How did we decide on Hula in the Coola? Hula in the Coola Day was created because people in the northern states were getting sick and tired of the crappy cold weather during the winter. By February, they were ready for some HEAT! So... they decided to buy some hula skirts and go outside and do the hula. They thought that, if they tried hard enough, they could simply forget about the cold weather and trick themselves into thinking it was the nice, hot summer. Typically celebrated on Feb. 1st, Nisswa has chosen HULA IN THE COOLA as our theme for the 43rd Annual Nisswa Winter Jubilee! NOW... we need your help! Help us design the BUTTON, using the Hula in the Coola theme. Be creative! We are accepting button designs from December 4th through December 24th. Submit your ideas to: info@nisswa or drop it off at Schaefers Foods or the Nisswa Chamber office. Remember... there are several elements to Jubilee - keep your button theme appropriate for kids of all ages, and the design has to fit into a 2 1/4 inch button. TOP 3 designs will win cash prizes! 1st Place: $200 cash and use of the button theme on all media for the event. 2nd Place: $75. 3rd Place: $50. Looking forward to seeing your designs!
