Judge/Judgment/Judging: Entry 26 Micah 7:1-4 (Life Application Bible) Woe to me! It is as hard to find an honest man as grapes and figs when harvest days are over. Not a cluster to eat, not a single early fig, however much i long i long for it! The good men have disappeared from the earth; not one fair-minded man is left. They are all murderers, turning against their own brothers. They go at their evil deeds with both hands, and how skilled they are in using them. The governor and judge alike demand bribes. The rich man pays them off and tells them whom to ruin. Justice is twisted between them. Even the best of them are prickly as briars; the straightest is more crooked than a hedge of thorns. But your judgment day is coming swiftly now; your time of punishment is almost here; confusion, destruction and terror will be yours. WHAT THE SCRIPTURE IS SAYING Micah watched as society rotted around him. Rulers demanded gifts; judges accepted bribes; corruption was universal. But God promises to lead the people out of the darkness of sin and into the light. Then the people would praise him for his faithfulness. God alone is perfectly faithful. Micah could not find an honest person anywhere in the land. Even today, real honesty is difficult to find. Society rationalizes sin, and even Christians sometimes compromise Christian principles in order to do what they want. It is easy to convince ourselves that we deserve a few breaks, especially when everyone else is doing it. But the standards for honesty comes from God, not society. We are honest because God is truth, and we are to be like him. MY THOUGHTS I can relate to Micahs experience and his need of communication and true honest companionship in this world. We all must face the act of harvesting in order for to allow God to prune and make new of your life and to allow blessing to flourish and the pathway to his light more vibrant in mankind. What does the Harvest time means to you? Do you need God to prune an area in your life? if so, how much of you are you willing to submit to God. And furthermore, will you endure to the end of your harvest time to reap his reward for your commitment. Harvesting is not limited by our standards, in fact, there are no limits or time frame in Gods eyes, he is perfectly faithful and just, so how often do we just submit knowing God knows ours heart and the outcome anyway. How much of us do we just give out of our will to be of service to him. Is it so difficult to give of ourselves completely to God, when we know God will never abandon or allow one hair to be pricked from our heads. Gods people are a force not to be messed with, God takes matter very serious when it comes to hurting his people and willing using the life you have been given for ill means. Gods concern in the matters are never overlook, its only a matter of when. Who do we live for? Christ or ourselves? THE CHALLENGE The challenge to day is to ask God to help you reflect on commitment, the value of his life, through the acts of our free will. Submitting our complete control of our lives to his will. For some this will be a difficult task, but not impossible. Take it one day at a time, allow God to harvest you and your life completely. And remember God loves talking to you, so keeping that line of communication open with prayer to him is essential.
