Julie and I are devastated by the loss of our little girl, Kookie. We loved her more than you can ever imagine. While it is some comfort that her struggle is over, we miss her so much. There is one less voice in the house now – a sweet voice that spoke unconditional love. Our lives changed for the better when she came into the world. We will always remember the games of peekaboo, her waking us up at sunrise and stomping all over the bed happily exploring while we got more sleep, she had a language all her own and invented words like Grandma Grapes and good-belly-o-bird, and Grandma go Wild, we’ll remember all the songs we sang with her especially the most appropriate song – The Sweetest Thing because that’s exactly what she was.
