July 16, 2013 Dear T. T. Knight Parents, Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year. We are very excited to have you and your child(ren) as part of the Bobcat Family. Every staff member has been working very hard to prepare for the return of our wonderful students. We have set very high expectations and made plans to guarantee that every student at T. T. Knight will be successful this school year. Student academic success is the main goal of every staff member at T. T. Knight. We believe that every student will learn to the highest level and we are prepared to offer more time and support to every student that needs it. I ask for your support and participation in this effort by sending your child to school every day, encouraging your child to read at least 30 minutes every evening, monitoring your child’s homework, and asking your child to share what they learned at school each day. We are very excited about the start of the new school year. In hopes to keep you well informed we will hold orientation on Thursday, August 8, 2013. Sixth grade orientation will occur at 5pm and 7th/8th grade orientation will occur at 7pm. Please check the T. T. Knight website for the appropriate school supply lists and dress code. School starts Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:20 p.m. every day. All students must be in dress code the first day of school. This will be closer to the morning holding area. Morning drop-off is strictly Drop and Go. We have very limited visitor parking and traffic is heavy. Please expect traffic congestion during peak hours. You cannot drop off your child in the front of the building due to being a bus zone. Our School Resource Officer has been instructed to issue tickets to anyone violating this directive. Afternoon Dismissal Our official dismissal time is 2:20pm. We dismiss a grade level at a time. All first run bus riders will exit the front of the building to the busses. All walkers and car riders will exit through the gym doors. Car Riders are to wait on the sidewalk by the gym for their ride. You must be in the car rider line to pick up your child. You cannot pick up your child in the parking lot. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding while kicking off the school year.
