July 9th was a warm sunny day, I told my son to bring my grandkids down to play in the sprinklers. My roomate set up the sprinkler and had went to use the bathroom, i kidded with her to hurry up that i needed to use the bathroom as well. She came out and went to sit down in livingroom. I went in the bathroom and remembering sitting down on toilet. Then next thing I remember was waking up with tubes and wires all over me and I couldnt talk,then I REALIZED there was a huge tube down my throat. I was in shock.why was i here like this? what had happened? THEN i realized my roomate DRU WAS THERE. i tried shouting...but barely made whispers..What happened to me?Dru leaned closer to me to try to hear me. She finally does...she told me I had suffered a Stroke. I remembered nothing....they told me that i nearly died, i was shocked twice to regulate my racing heart.. After 8 days in hospital and 4 in rehab I am much better. little weakness in left arm and hand. no facial abnormaltities, and no speech probs. long term memory is in tact. short term is fuzzy.I have no other problems from the stroke so far. all i can say is glad to be alive...thank you GOD
