July and August 2014 are the best months this year! First, the long awaited 2014 Bb. Nabunturan made waves and culminated in a very successful note with rave reviews coming from supporters and non-supporters. Thanks to all the people who helped, the candidates, the committee specially my production team who braved a lot of sleepless nights, and saved the days when each day becomes a struggle. Thanks to all the people who held on and helped out (you know who you all are!). Thanks to the people who came to watch the show. Nag-uumapaw ang dami ninyo with an estimate of 300 more na hindi nakapasok dahil di na kaya ng capacity ng gymnasium sa sobrang dami ng dumating at gustong manood. This was my first time to be Artistic Director of a major pageant in this place and Im so proud to say I have powerfully gifted artists behind me, and tons of brains from people who somehow volunteered and made it one of the greatest shows of the year! Thanks also to MEO: Ate Thelma Alonzo Rivera, Arthur Benjamin, Engr. Salcon and Christopher Vista of NNCHS SPA-Visual Arts for the set design! Salamat Don Kryle, Werner, Cris, Ritchell, Lindon Roy, Michael, Ann, Witchie, Lloyd, Jay R, ATe Gitgit, Mam DElz, Accounting Office, Mam Nitz Villan, Economic Enterprise, Second, the version 2.0 of Star Sayaw with entries coming from various areas of Davao City, Panabo City, Santo Tomas, Davao Del Norte, Tagum City and our locality made the show all the more successful. Thanks to the LGU-Nabunturan members of the committee. Thanks also to Ian Intens who provided us with more than capable judges. All of you, people made my job as Artistic Director easier. Third, serving as Training Director for SIBOL-SINING Ikaduhang Lakang: Ang Pagtisok was one of the most-enriching build-up activities the Nabunturan-Tourism Council had apart from Sine-Indie Filmmaking Workshop. It made me realize that preparations, management, promotions and logistical requirements are basically jobs not only for a team of 4 people but a team of more than 20 passionate hands. thanks to YASMin Nabunturan : Gene Dargantes-Baxter, Judith Mesiona, Joe Anthony Ellacanao, Caryl Jane Ferniz, Daisy Nervida-Obera, Mark Obera, Leah Bugas Mesiona Calamba, Arlyn Lim, Karen Santiago-malaki, Christopher Vista and a lot more for being strong despite the not-so-welcome development which almost crumbled the effort that took months to prepare. We are a team of risk-takers - ambitious and out-of-the-box thinkers. Thanks also to the ART TEACHERS - Carlo Ebeo, Richard Dian Vilar, Lotus Art, Leonardo Rey S. Cariño with his assistant, Hosen Ngilay for helping us out here in Nabunturan and the Division of Compostela Valley. And thank you LGU-Nabunturan, PGU, ACN, and NCCA. Fourth, THE DOWN TO MARS RETURNS CONCERT, although it wasnt a breeze but working as Technical Director in support to the Concert Director and DEAR FRIEND Edson Etchok Cachuela made it all the more powerful and magical! And by saying magical, I mean to say na-magic ang tanan bahalag kulang ug tulog. Hahaha. Kay gina-ingon pa, maka-magic man gani ug mini-show nga 30 minutes ray preparation, kani pa nga summer pa lang gipanukaran na. hehe. Thank you, Edson Etchok Cachuela for the joy of working with you again and for the trust ug sa atong pagka-ANG-ANG SHERRI!!! Thank you also to FERA Ate Bing CHUA for all the support together with your classmates! And Thanks also to Down To Mars. IT WAS AN EXPLOSIVE SHOW, MILES BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE. Congrats, too, Power Seven for a commendable discipline and performance. Thanks to Mimi Menicable, it was also a joy working with you and your team of admins and supporters! It was a hell of a ride but it was all worth the blood, sweat and tears. It was ALL PASSION AND LOVE-at-work! Thank you, Lord, for all these blessings and for all the people around me.
