Jumuah Naseegah Al-Adl: Justice (Prt - TopicsExpress

Jumuah Naseegah Al-Adl: Justice (Prt 1) السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ Justice is to give something or someone their due position. Here is a light-hearted example: To place your feet on a table would be an injustice because the table is not meant for your feet. In Islam, the first demand of justice is Tougheed … to acknowledge, accept and SUBMIT to the Almighty. The Almighty introduced Himself to us with: Surah 59:22-24 (will quote & translate in next naseegha) In this Surah, Allah’s self introduction BEGINS and ENDS with Tougheed – with His unique Majesty and Grace. To give this position of worshipping or asking for help to ANYONE / ANYTHING else other than the Almighty is therefore an injustice (of the highest form). Immediately after mentioning being dutiful to Allah alone, the Almighty mentions being dutiful to parents. This is therefore the very next step in justice, with very little and virtually no distinction between the two. Thereafter justice is to be kind to spouses, relatives, orphans, masaakeen, neighbours (Muslim AND non-Muslim), and those in your custody. Islam places the highest importance on justice because it is the foundation of all good. That is why our beloved Nabi (SAW) said that the duah of the oppressed against the oppressor, reaches the Almighty without any hindrance, even if the oppressed is a non-Muslim and the oppressor a Muslim. People like to talk about peace, harmony, joy, etc., but fail to realise that ALL of these, are outcomes of justice. It is only when justice is established that peace & happiness can prevail. In Surah An-Nisa 4:135 the Almighty says: O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice as witness to Allah (SWT) even against yourselves, your parents or your kin and whether it be against rich or poor; for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts of your hearts, lest you swerve from justice, and if you distort justice or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well acquainted with all that you do. In another Ghadith, it is reported that Allah (SWT) says that one act of justice is greater in reward than 40 years of Ibaadah in the eyes of the Almighty. I therefore pose the question: Are we THAT confident in the balance of our scale of Good and Bad to ignore being just? To be continued next week In-Sha-Allah May the Almighty grant us and our offspring to be just, happiness, good & grateful hearts, Ameen Jumuah Mubarak
