June 10th 2013 THE NIGHT IS COMING; WORK NOW! BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOHN 9:1-7 The story is told about the ant and the grasshopper. The ants were working all summer gathering grain for winter. When winter came and food was scarce, the ants brought out their food to dry them. A grasshopper, famished and perishing with famine passed by and earnestly begged for a little food. The ants asked him, “Why didn’t you store up food during summer? Where were you?” “I didn’t have enough time to get food. I passed the days singing.” The ants laughed at the grasshopper. “if you were foolish enough to sing all summer, you must dance without supper to bed in the winter.” When you refuse to work, you will never have anything to eat when harvest comes. The law has been set; seed time and harvest, summer and winter, day and night. What you do during one season determines what you will enjoy during the following season. Work and planning must come before pleasure. Sowing comes before reaping. Day comes before night. Labour comes before rest No wonder Jesus said in vs 4 of today’s scripture: “ I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh , when no man can work”. Jesus said two remarkable things: 1. The night must come for everyone- “The Night Cometh.” 2. At that night season, no man can work –“When no man can work.” If you choose to rest during the time of labour (YOUR DAYS SEASON –from 1 year -60years), you will have no choice but to labour when the others are resting and enjoying the fruit of their labour. I have seen people who retired without planning for a house! I have seen others who kept working till even 80 and above! May that not be your portion in Jesus name. Edith Sitwell said that “ Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” Nobody lives forever! Nobody grows younger! That’s why I write for 20 hours a day with much pain sometimes in my hands as I bang my laptop with joy- because I know that the days will come when successors anointed to write better than me a hundred times will be raised by God! Work while it is day! Train others now while it is yet day and as God blesses the labour of your hands, your latter end shall be blissful and enviable ! Amen! PRAYER POINTS: Take any song of worship as led. Pray seriously on today’s word as you have been touched. I decree that I shall not end my life and ministry in regret. Every evil hand reaching out to pluck off and eat up the fruit of my labour, WITHER AND DIE RIGHT NOW IN Jesus name. Holy Ghost, accelerate the seasons of my life and ministry! Lord, restore any WASTED season of my life! Start with me again and give me another chance in Jesus name.
