June 4 – [A] President Obama is heading to New York City to sign the UN Gun Ban Treaty. Unfortunately, he has forgotten that the US Constitution does not give him the power to ratify treaties between nations; this power is reserved for the Senate. By affixing his signature to this document, he is committing our country to its terms (ratification by proxy), a clear violation the US Constitution. What does he want to do? Does he want to embarrass the people of the United States by giving the World the impression that the US has ratified this Treaty when, by all expectations, the US Senate will reject it as they did with gun bans and background checks? Does he feel that he is above the law of the land as expressed in our Constitution and able to do whatever he wants as a sovern ruler of yesteryear? He should know better as he claims to have taught constitutional law.
