June Forecast Calls for Pain It was a typically hectic weekend with the Petersen household …. Saturday morning I traveled to Richmond to join “The Old Grays” in the annual Monk Vaughan Sevens rugby tournament. We were on our third match, when I turned to pass a ball and felt my left leg seize up. I crawled off the field and was done for the day. (The OG’s ended up winning the plate in the “social” division). Saturday night was a concert at our church for the “Journey to Jerusalem,” which is a trip taken by our youth confirmands, including my fifteen-year old daughter. Sunday, I couldn’t walk so I drove the tractor and cut the yard. Beautiful day. Caught up with my friend Adam Ebbin, candidate for Congress, for dinner at “Elevation Burger” in Falls Church. (I did see that the RTD published my piece on scholarships for out-of-state students for our Virginia universities). Back home now and switching between “Wedding Crashers” and “The Town” on cable. Which one is more awesome? In the background to all this is the omnipresent reality: that the Assembly has no biennial budget and no realistic expectation of getting one in the next few weeks. It’s going to be a long June.
