Jury is out, certainly as far as Im concerned. While I wouldnt seek a reflexively, scattershot, muscular response along the lines of so many Republican critics, I also think there is something very unsatisfying about his muted and overwhelmingly hesitant and Hamlet-like response to such pressing matters as Russias attack on Ukraine and the danger posed by the Islamic State. I still believe the U.S. is uniquely situated to provide a very stabilizing, inspirational and positive role in the world (admitting that weve at times gone astray in this respect). Maybe hell be vindicated in the long run, but at this point, blankly admitting he has no strategy for dealing with the Islamic State in Syria (despite the fact theyve been around for some time now), and barely acknowledging the bully threats of the tyrannical Putin, leaves me wondering if hes really the leader for times such as this. Not trying to blast him; just some honest reflections on this Sunday morning. By the way, I know this comes with the job and has been mentioned for most other Presidents, but geez the poor guy looks like hes aged 20 years in the past six.
