Just A Thought: Acts 16:5 reads, And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. We are living in Gods time-table know as the dispensation of grace. It is synonymous with the term, the church age. The Law came by Moses, but GRACE and truth came by Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus founded the very first local assembly know as His church. A sweet verse of scripture that comes to my heart and mind is, Husbands, love your wives, even as CHRIST also loved the church and gave Himself for it. The church did not start on the day of Pentecost! I repeat, the CHURCH did NOT start on the day of Pentecost. The CHURCH was anointed, and em-powered on the day of Pentecost by the divine Holy Spirit, but our Lord Jesus established His CHURCH personally and physically. The unction of the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost to the already established church of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is because and through the local New Testament church that this world is blessed beyond measure, in this dispensation of GRACE. What increased in number daily? Thanks for asking. Answer: The CHURCH. Some men and leaders have the mentality that we NEED to limit our out-reach, we really cant handle growth. They place a damper on the church. US FOUR AND NO MORE! The only biblical way to increase in numerically is to be ESTABLISHED in the FAITH. Look at a mans ministry closely. Look at what he has sown. Do people grow in their faith? Do people increase in their faith? Or do people start abandoning ship? What about his past? The ministries that this leader has been involved in, have they ever grown in number? Or do the things he touches decline in number? Sunday school class growth or decline? If they are of God they GROW and INCREASE in number, never the opposite direction, NEVER! Build a FIRE, likened to the day of Pentecost and THEY will come. People will come to see a FIRE (Holy Spirit filled revival) burn! People will be saved, the water baptistery filled and the CHURCH established in FAITH. Our verse, And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. May God help us to be much in prayer for our churches to grow numerically as they are ESTABLISHED in the FAITH! Just A Thought
