Just a fair warning, this will be a long post! I have way too many good things to share that it is likely to exhaust you by reading this post. So I apologize in advance but if your up for hearing just how amazing our God is then keep on reading!!!!! With an unexpected visit to Childrens Hospital on Thursday I was discouraged and immediately had a bad attitude. Then after we got the news she was being admitted and having a spinal drain put in that night it came to me that none of this is part of my plan. Its Gods plan! So I took a minute and got over myself. Just another one of those moments where I close my eyes and just say Thank You Lord for my daughter and thank you for keeping her here on this earth with me! Taylor rested better than she had in weeks on Thursday night and since we have been here. The extra fluid was more than likely causing some pressure and discomfort that she was unable to tell us about. The first 24 hours with her spinal drain there was a very steady flow of spinal fluid and as of today it has been draining much much slower which is a good thing. We talked to the doctors again today and the plan as of now is to remove the drain on Wednesday and then do another MRI. If all looks good they just want to watch her for a couple of days and hopefully get her back to Our Childrens House by Friday. We are all anxiously waiting to get back there and get her rehab really going good now that she is much more awake and aware of what is going on. In the last 48 hours not only has she started mouthing words and using her voice some but also has great control of her neck and is blinking and able to control her eye movement much better. Yesterday without even thinking about it I just told her Ryann is coming to the other side of your bed and I started to move her head so she could see her and she just flopped that head right over. I actually jumped back and all of us just looked at eachother. Then she smiled really big at us like we were a bunch of goofballs! So now I catch myself watching her and she will just be looking around the room and checking everything out. After 2 weeks of having a neck brace on I think those muscles just completely forget they can still work. Our communication has improved a bunch over the last 24 hours. We are able to ask her simple things like does something hurt? and she can say my back hurts....this helps so much just so we are able to get her comfortable. I can usually tell when something isnt right by her heart rate and she just starts breathing different. She has also been doing lots of laughing...and I mean big laughs! Its so fun just to watch her giggle and be silly like what we are use to. Her and her Daddy have their little inside jokes that no one else thinks is funny and they just both start laughing. Her nurses are really starting to see the true Taylor we all know...she giggles non stop as they are messing with her. Her cousins Jaydon, Ryann, Conner and Cody sure know how to make her laugh as well! And of course Paisley (her baby sister) brings a huge smile to her face. Paisley is a busy body and the hospital is most happy when they see us leaving with her!!! Lol! I wish she could stay in Taylors room longer but I have to remember she is only 1 and I cant expect her to do that. Thank goodness for my amazing family...they are helping us get Ashley and Paisley where they need to be every day. Next weekend is Ryanns birthday and since school is about to start we wont be able to see them on her birthday. So today we let her sit up in the bed with Taylor and open her gift. Taylor was able to sign her card with some help form me but she did know exactly how to spell her name and she drew a heart. I was so proud of her!!!! She got a little emotional but I think it was only because she realized this isnt how it usually is. She did great and was very happy to give Ryann her birthday gift. So after going from a busy weekend full of family (that we love having here!!!!) it has been a quiet evening. Chad and I spent some time with Taylor tonight just talking and letting her enjoy some of her favorite songs and watched a little Disney channel. She was even singing a little bit...no noise but was mouthing all of the words! Every time I tell her I love her she says it right back and immediately puts her lips together for a kiss!!! I can honestly say just days ago I wondered if I would ever hear her voice again, or if she would remember me so to say these are big things doesnt even describe the feeling! Since Taylors accident on July 25th we have met some other families that are on very similar journeys with their kids. Also we have been contacted and had tons of messages from people who have already been through something like this. The couple of people who I have talked to ( yall know who you are!!) have been life savers for me!!!!! Just being able to send a Facebook message, text or make a phone call to one of you has been wonderful. Keep those prayers coming!!!! Pray for a beautiful MRI on Wednesday and to get back to rehab by Friday. Also please pray for our sweet friend Jaydan that is coming from Lubbock to Cooks Childrens Hospital in Ft. Worth tomorrow to start rehab there. We pray that him and his entire family have a safe trip here! One more request is to pray for our new friend Hanna. We havent officially met yet but I feel like I already know her. She is at Our Childrens House where Taylor is. Her and her family are from Muleshoe which is a very small town close to Lubbock. She is only a little bit older than Taylor and we cant wait for the girls to meet! Well since our first doctor will be visiting in about 5 hours I better get a little bit of sleep! Between Chad and Taylor both snoring and machines beeping Im sure these next few hours will fly by. Thanks again for all of the prayers, gifts, donations and just keeping Taylor in your thoughts each day. I speak for myself and my entire family when I say we will be forever grateful! Taylors panda collection has grown tremendously over the last few weeks and she is loving it! Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. -Jeremiah 33:3
