Just a few days ago on Monterey bay , I was sailing along , the sea was calm and the breeze was fine , nothing needed fixing immediately . I wasn’t in any rush to get anywhere or do anything . Then I saw just a few feet away the mermaid and everything changed the wind came up , the waves built , my little boat was shipping green water the sheets started to part , the tiller got jammed hard to port and I was suffering repeated knock downs . My little ship was out of my control . It felt like the end of me , my chest hurt and my head was swimming . I went below and had twice as much as I should have . When some hours had passed and I felt it might be safe I popped out to look around . Next day I went out again thinking it could not happen two days in a row but I was wrong , the very same thing happened in just the same way . Days later and my chest still hurts and my head is still swimming .
