Just a heads up- the USD/Yen exchange is extremely strong right now, it was trading at 113.73 yen to the dollar today, which is just about the highest it has been in nearly 7 years, there are expectations that it could continue to rise into the 115 range by the end of the year; however, if you dont feel like watching rates each day to see if it is continuing to rise or starting to fall, now would be a great time to withdraw a larger sum of money from your US Bank account into yen while the rate is so high. for every $1,000 you withdraw, essentially that is an extra $137 above what you would get following the traditional usd/yen rate numbers numbers (usually hovers around 1 usd : 100 yen - for example at the start of the semester it was ranging anywhere from 99-101 yen per 1 usd) Hope this helps out :)
