Just a little clip of our friend Mr. Evan McBoxer, to show you all - TopicsExpress

Just a little clip of our friend Mr. Evan McBoxer, to show you all how well he is doing, and how he is absolutely loving life these days. Evan has been with us for nearly a month now and hes made himself right at home in Vinnies old room. We did remodel it somewhat, so Evan could call it his own, and he is just thrilled to have lots of comfy, soft beds, good meals, and many people to love and care for him. This is a far cry from where he was over a month ago when he was first found on a desolate street all by himself. We have determined that Evan was dumped on this out-of-the-way road in Hillside, NJ, after he became seriously injured, was starved, and completely neglected. The initial story that we got on Evan was that he was a stray that had been hit by a car, then pulled himself off the road to find a place to lay down and die. After careful investigation, we determined that the story just didnt make sense. While Evan did have broken bones, the breaks and were old and left untreated. He also had old and new wounds all over his body. We cannot determine how long Evan was left out on this road to fend for himself, but he was existing on whatever garbage he could find to eat, including plastic bags and sticks. All of this is now a distant memory for our friend Evan, and he is looking forward to a bright, happy future. Evan is still recovering from the surgery that he had on his front leg to repair the broken bones in it. He also has three fractures in his pelvis, so he is still on bed rest. While he is quite strong and feeling good, Evan still has some serious issues that we are trying to resolve. He was quite anemic when he arrived, but his infestation of whip worms is a bigger concern. Evan had his third treatment on Friday to try to rid him of the worms. This infestation likely contributed to Evan being severely emaciated as well. Once this has cleared up, we expect Evan to put on weight a little faster than he has been. Evan still has a long road to recovery and his treatment is ongoing. He is not available for adoption at this time. Please keep our Evan in your thoughts and prayers and if you are able, please consider making a contribution toward his medical care by clicking here: ahscares.org/shop/item.asp?itemid=28&catid=5 Thank you all for caring for our beautiful boxer boy! Please stay tuned for more from our happy boy, Evan. youtu.be/NbCq9aMrzrM
