Just a quick update before heading off to start the day. Home from a great weekend judging at Caithness riding club where I met some lovely people and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of horses up north. Well done guys!! One of the most exciting parts of my trip was bringing home Kings Speech aka Streaky from Team Skelton. We are totally honoured to be given this very special horse to break. Streaky was placed 3rd at HOYS this year in the cuddy championship and will go on to start his ridden career next season. So, he is very much wrapped in cotton wool!! The yard is extremely busy at the minute with lots of exciting new arrivals and some very talented youngsters in for breaking. Last night I dropped off Tbag at her new home, we wish Natalie all the success with her. No longer was she gone but her stable was filled by a lovely big mare in for selling. We still have a large selection of horses for sale to suit all standards, so please do not hesitate to give us a ring and let us help you find your ideal equine partner. Yesterday we made progress with two sharp young horses, both being ridden round very relaxed with their rider on board, at last!! Fendi, a big mare from Nikki Ferguson in for breaking, also had a very educational day, learning to long rein, stop, start and steer. Young horses are the most rewarding sometimes! Another busy week on the yard with lots of viewings of the selling horses, youngsters to be brought on and general yard duties.
