After watching Concerning Violence yesterday and listening to some of the interviews from back in the old days with settlers. I remember clenching my fist listening to disgusting comments about Africans. Today after lunch I spent some time going through articles online from publications like Mail & Guardian & Financial Times etc. And I saw a stream of comments that were remarkably similar in structure and language to those of men who spoke about uncivilised Africans. Whats sad is that Im so sure many of these guys are walking around in daylight greeting me. Working at stores, or maybe in offices I frequent. Its a harrowing thought given the recent *reported* incidents in the city. .. The more things change the more things stay the same. A few bad apples or a corrupt and inevitable manifestation of a system of hate. Indeed colonisation is not a thinking machine.
