Just a quick update on the Serbia flood relief, to keep everyone who cares in the loop. Ive decided to donate the funds weve raised so far to the Serbian Humanitarian Non-Profit group 28. Jun. 28 Jun has over $1.5 million worth of goods sitting in a warehouse in Toronto. This includes food, drink, baby supplies, and other necessities donated by the likes of Walmart, Target, Gatorade, and others. The problem is that 28 Jun needs $50,000 to pay for a cargo flight from Toronto to Belgrade, Serbia, where the goods will be received by Red Cross Serbia and distributed to the people who need them most. Unfortunately no US or Canadian airline has stepped up to offer to help make the shipment, so theyre forced to pay for a flight through fundraising. I spoke to the president of 28 Jun, Filip, and I feel good about what theyre doing to help. Weve raised just under $2,000 here. Not a ton, but its something that will help.
