Just a reminder..... Pride of Place Competition will take place on June 21st in the Loughrea Hotel and Spa. Ireland Reaching Out have been nominated for the Pride of Place Award and judging will take place on June 21st, in the Loughrea Hotel and Spa from 2pm - 4.30pm. Pride of Place is an all-island competition where community groups have the unique opportunity to showcase specific pride initiatives which will have long lasting and positive impacts in their community. Activities can include developing community centres, tackling social exclusion issues, establishing residents associations or the providing of childcare facilities. The competition is hosted by Co-operation Ireland under its Local Authority Programme. Prizes are awarded for various categories. There are 5 population categories, and other categories such as Community Response to Safety, Community Tourism Initiative, Community Health Initiative, Housing Estate and an Island category. Ireland Reaching Out have been nominated by Galway County Council under a new category `Diaspora`. We would like to invite you and your parish volunteers to attend and participate in this process on June 21st. This is a great opportunity to show case your parish and the connections you have made with the Irish Diaspora. Looking forward to seeing you there!
