Just a short note on this page as to how the meeting went tonight. It was very well attended by the people of the town and we had 3 MLAs Lady Hermon MP, and Alan Chambers ND Councillor Mark Brooks Councillor (who I believe along with John Hamilton organised the meeting) Sorry if I have missed anyone. Plan of action: Mark Brooks to write formally to Ards Council to ask them to assert the right of way. Unfortunately ABC do not have a Land Officer in post at present due to maternity leave but are trawling for a replacement. Everyone encouraged to fill in the Public right of way Evidence Forms which you can get from Rooms and Bowbells (it is not the quantity of the forms rather the quality) Lady Herman to telephone NIEA tomorrow to ask them to come back and review the site as a matter of urgency. Another meeting in a months time to regroup.. New Group called Friends of the Commons (although personally I prefer Commons Select Committee as named by Derek Simpson last night :)) Further information on the Deelapidated site.
