Just a thought.. I grew up thinking I was stupid. I was never interested in school, teachers brushed me off, I was never a star student, my grades were mediocre and often horrible. I had no hobbies, passions, or talents and didnt think I was good at anything. School was expected to be my main focus. I remember from a very young age feeling depressed and having flashes of suicidal thoughts creep into my mind. But I tried to keep it all together for the sake of my image and for the sake of keeping my family happy. When I finally let go of all of that and gave myself the space to do ME I discovered things I NEVER knew about myself. I found that I was actually very creative and talented at so many different things. I just didnt fit into the box they try and stuff all children into. Were all different so why are we all taught the same curriculum, given the same assignments, and expected to live up to the same standards? Children need the space to allow their creativity to flourish and have their natural born, unique passions and talents nurtured. Youre considered a good student if you can memorize and accept everything youre told. & Most of us just arent made that way.
