(Just a thought after my trip to Vietnam) On one hand you have - TopicsExpress

(Just a thought after my trip to Vietnam) On one hand you have Vietnam...after WWII was in an almost continuous war with France, then the US, a civil war, Cambodia, then finally China up until almost 1980. The US dropped more bombs (and chemicals) on them more than the total we used in all WWII. Then, on the other hand you have Philippines....beneficiary of more US handouts and money since WWII than most other countries. The question is, why is Vietnam so much farther ahead than PI in terms of infrastructure, internet, hotels, electrical grid, security..the list goes on an on. Same as West African countries, Mexico and the like...the more these countries receive in US handouts and aid, the farther behind they fall. That is comparable to the welfare class in the US....handouts do NOT work. Maybe we should declare war on our welfare recipients, bomb the hell out of them, and in a decade they will be successful? Detroit may not realize much of a difference after the bombing runs.
