Just a thought or two about the current state of affairs in the United States. This morning we went to Lowes to pickup some pine bark mulch. As I entered the parking lot, I noticed the gas price at Murphys was $3.39 per gallon. We were at Lowes no more than 20 minutes and as I left the parking lot the same sign at Murphys had gas for $3.45. If gas prices continue to rise we are going to be in for a very rough summer, not to mention the economy could hit rock bottom again. When are the so-called leaders in Washington going to start looking after the people who are trying to make a decent living? But with rising gas price, prices on other commodities (groceries, light bills, etc.) will escalate as well. Who will it affect the most? None other than the middle class. Sadly, the middle class has very little chance because of the self-righteous politicians who say they are looking after our best welfare could care less about me and you. I also feel sympathy for the elderly who are living on a fixed income and are just barely getting by. Those on welfare, and who could work, could help matters by getting off their lazy butts and get a job! I propose we get rid of all politicians currently in office; do away with welfare for the lazy, and reorganize Medicaid benefits completely! Yes, one other thing -- eliminate all financial aid to all foreign countries. I could go on and on, but my time for venting is over. Thanks for listening.
