Just a word of warning from our colleagues at Bury Trading Standards office who have reported that 2 males have cold called victim offering to sell loft insulation and stating that it needs to be 5 inches thick. Victim was informed that other people in the area had it done. Victim stated was not interested and did not want anything done. The 2 males seemed very insistent and were reluctant to leave. They are described as follows:- 1. male, black, well dressed 2. male, polish accent, well dressed. We would advise residents to always refuse offers of work from uninvited callers. If residents feel work needs doing they can contact trading standards at Bury Council who can provide a free list of registered traders. The Governments Energy Saving Trust has advice and information on energy saving measures available.
