Just an update that Im recovering from surgery and taking it easy and staying as comfortable as possible. Im in such good hands, from my angel Star who always protects me, brushes and braids my hair, and attends to all my needs; to the excellent hospital staff who are so on top of it and share their personal anecdotes; to my friends and family near and far whove sent prayers and well wishes. Im so grateful. My appendix burst minutes before going into surgery, so Ill be here a little longer than expected, but I feel way better than yesterday and am just thankful to be alive and on the road to recovery. I think because of the spiritual journey I went on during my leg injury (everyone should read The Power of Now!), I didnt even feel upset or cry during this whole situation. I was like, lets just take care of this and do what needs to be done. It is as it is. I did shed a few tears of joy when I woke up from surgery and was just glad to wake up! They said I was shaking pretty bad, had BP of 200 and fever of 102. But like anything else, just dealing with it, and the staff is pleased with my progress. Hopefully I can go home tomorrow, but itll be hard to part from this sweet adjustable hospital bed and round the clock staff monitoring. If you have any knowledge on how having your appendix removed affects one in the long term, like your immunity system, please share.
