Just as the heavy snow started hitting the area, the Working Fire Hazmat BOX was transmitted to Dept 42. Car 3 and Engine/Tanker 22 responded with a total of 5. Dept 42 had a shipping container loaded with batteries on fire. Dept 27 was used as the FAST Team do to other ones being OOS in the area and long response time due to weather for additional ones to respond. Crews worked for about 3 hours containing and extinguishing the fire. It was a prolonged operation do to the fact that water couldnt be used to extinguish the fire. Multiple Cos were used for Class D extinguishers and standbys during the incident. This was one of 6 runs so far during the storm, currently there is 3 full crews on standby for the duration of the storm at HQ.
