Just back from a great day of race commentating at the Andover round of the Deep South Winter Series. Some amazing riding today from some very tallented riders, but the rider of the day easily goes to Rhys Deans. In his final the gate dropped and he managed to get a quick pedal in before his chain fell off. Not put off by this Rhys pumped, manualed and jumped as much of the track he could and managed to hold off the other 7 riders in the race and take the win chainless! This is no small task as he was up against some very quick riders. To any of my Non BMX rider friends I am posting up a video taken at a race in America where the same thing happens. The rider in the video breaks his chain out of the first corner and still goes on to win the race. To put it in to perspective Rhys lost his chain out of the starting gate and only got 1 pedal in... youtube/watch?v=8e80cJTrJDs
