Just back from a great week in Branson, MO with my Child Bride Had a great time. A long ride so we stayed over in Terre Haute, IN on the way down. Visited a really nice city park on the shores of the Wabash River. Very serene, and lots for kids to do. Branson really nice, but crowded. Traffic is the pits for several reasons. Nobody in the south ever hurries, probably not even to a fire! There is no flat property anywhere in Branson - all very steep hills as it sits on the ridges of the Ozark Mtns. There are no straight roads anywhere in Branson. Nobody in Branson actually knows how to get to where they are trying to go. The people we met all over the place were very friendly. The shows were great, I even got on stage with Doug Gabriel and his family - but that is another story. My Honey wants to at least visit all 50 states, so we went to Arkansas for lunch one day. Any one that has a chance to should try to stay at the Big Cedar Lodge. What a Magnificent venue. Situated on a ridge over a lake and with the most privacy we have ever seen at a resort. The landscaping is fantastic. Soon on the way to Spotsylvania, VA and on to Ormond Beach FL and, hopefully, Tarpon Springs. Isnt retirement great?
