Just back from a grim loop of hope. Back at car a lady is passing my car and I close my door to make sure path clear for her. Exchange pleasantries about how grim it is and living in hope. The lady is pleasant and asks where Ive been, I say round Mam Tor up the old road down, Chapel gate round to Jacobs etc. She tells me locals tired of mess made down off Mam from Hollins and other soft bits. Not even walkable nowadays. (She has the makings of a point) She was more sad than angry I felt. She tells me about a bike rider recently flying down a stretch and sending a family flying, no attempt or effort to slow was made. Police nabbed him apparently. (Smartphone camera pic helped.) I offered that it was a minority, and I did offer my view it is often newer riders too. I said most will stick to all weather stuff. Sad and worrying a pleasant local feels this way, perhaps we should engage them as much as we try with DCC? We may already do, I thank you all that do. :) No real point to this rambling, but thought it a worthwhile tale :)
