Just because you wear black doesnt make you emo or goth. Just because you have piercings & colored hair doesnt mean youre a scene kid. Just because you wear studs and skulls, and have your head shaved, does not mean youre punk. Each subculture under the broad umbrella term of alternative has their own unique division and personalized culture. And however, Its true that some are similar, they are, in themselves, very distinct. You cannot identify with one more than one at a time. You can however, have multiple styles, which is where I think of lot of people get confused. I am NOT emo, scene, punk, goth, hipster or industrial. I identify as alternative. Leaving a large amount of variation with my style. If you choose to identify as ONE SPECIFIC subculture, please be respectful, dont play into stereotypes and remember to ALWAYS be yourself. kk rant over.
