Just before the turn of the century in what is now Torrance Ca, there was a stage coach stop called "Walters Station". That name would evolve into "Walteria", a suburb of Torrance Ca, and where I was born and raised. Today there was a re-union of old Walteria alum from back in the day, of which I was one. To see friends, some of which had been gone as long as 40 years was a powerful experience to say the least. It was held in Walteria park, where many if not all of us played as little kids. Oddly enough, the park itself has remained largely unchanged in 60 years, yet we have all gone from tiny little kids to almost retired in some cases. So to those from my past in no particular order, Dave Acosta, Brian Hance, David Greene, Liz Carhu, Peggy Anderson, Cecilia Flores, Gilly Flores, and of particular mention Carol Powers for ramrodding the whole affair, God bless you all and Walteria, I hope to see you all next year if not sooner.
