Just cancelled my Fitness First membership. The following conversation took place: [Operator] - May I ask why youre ending your membership with us today? [Dave] - Sure. Can you please tell me the last time I went to the gym? [Operator] - Sure, one sec.... looks like it was at Newtown, and it was.... Oh. Wow. 284 days ago. [Dave] - Yep. [Operator] - Have you been ill? [Dave] - No, no. Just moved, and theres a new gym Im planning on going to instead at work. Coupled with a general lack of motivation. [Operator] - How much is this new gym? [Dave] - $5 a week. Comes with a personal trainer. [Operator] - IS THAT ALL? And with a PT? Oh wow. No excuses for not going now, David. 284 days is TERRIBLE! [Dave] - Its also approximately $742 spent for no reason. [Operator] - Uh huh. Well, there is usually a two week waiting period for membership cancellation, but Im sure that I can waive that seeing as its been so long for you... [Dave] - Fantastic! Thanks so much! [Operator] - No problem. That means the next direct debit will be your last, and will come out on the... oh! Today! No further payments will be deducted. [Dave] - Yay! See? It was meant to be. Thanks for your help today. [Operator] -No problem. I attribute the fact that Im not the size of a house to my (mainly) liquid diet.
